Putting money in
LadBet Deposits
From £10, instant on cards and wallets, no fee. What a declined payment usually means, and why a bank sometimes blocks the first one.
Depositing is the part of a betting account that should be invisible and occasionally is not. When it works there is nothing to explain; when it fails the message is almost always unhelpful, and that is what this page is for.
How to deposit
From the cashier in the account menu, on the website or in the app.
- Open the cashierAccount menu, then deposit.
- Choose a methodCards and wallets are instant. Bank transfer is not.
- Enter an amountFrom £10. Any deposit limit you have set is applied here.
- Approve the verification stepA banking app prompt or a one-time code. Dismissing it declines the payment.
- ConfirmThe balance updates immediately on an instant method.
Storing a card
A card can be saved for future deposits. The card number itself is held by the payment processor rather than by us, and what we retain is a token that cannot be used anywhere else. Removing a stored card is in the cashier and takes effect immediately.
When a deposit is declined
The decline code we receive is generic in almost every case, which means support genuinely cannot tell you why. The bank can. Work through these before contacting anyone.
A gambling block
Most UK banks offer a block that prevents gambling transactions at the card level. It is worth checking whether one is switched on, particularly if the card is new or the banking app has been updated recently — some banks default it on. Only the bank can lift it, and many enforce a cooling-off period of up to 48 hours before the change takes effect.
A credit card
Refused by law. Worth double-checking on a card you think of as a debit card — some accounts issue a card that behaves as credit, and the bank’s own app will say which it is.
The issuer’s risk rules
A first gambling transaction on a card is a common flag. It usually clears on a second attempt, or after approving the prompt the bank sends. Repeated attempts in quick succession are counterproductive: three declines in a row look like a compromised card and will harden the block rather than clear it.
Deposit limits
A limit you have set is enforced at the cashier, and the cashier will say so rather than declining generically.
How they behave
A limit applies per day, week or month across the whole account, sportsbook and casino together. Tightening one takes effect immediately. Loosening one waits out a cooling-off period, which is deliberate — a limit that can be lifted in the moment it matters is not a limit. Setting them takes about a minute.
If a limit is blocking you
That is the tool working. It is worth sitting with the wait rather than looking for a way round it, because the cooling-off period was designed for exactly the state of mind that wants it gone.
Speed and what actually delays a deposit
Instant methods are genuinely instant. The variability is entirely in the verification step.
Push approvals
Most banks now confirm through their own app rather than by text. If the phone is on a battery saver, the notification can arrive minutes late or not at all, and the deposit times out in the meantime. Opening the banking app manually and approving the pending request usually resolves it.
One-time codes by text
These occasionally queue on a busy network. Requesting a second code invalidates the first, so waiting ninety seconds before trying again is faster than it feels.
Depositing while a bonus is running
One interaction worth knowing about, because it catches people mid-package.
A deposit made while a casino bonus is still working through its wagering triggers the next tier of the welcome package rather than topping up the current one, and the two bonuses then run with their own requirements. Depositing purely to add cash while a bonus is live is therefore worth doing deliberately rather than by habit. The cash part of a balance can always be withdrawn; the bonus part cannot until its wagering is complete or it is forfeited, which is set out on the casino page.
A deposit is not a bet
Worth one plain paragraph, because the interface makes the two adjacent.
Money in the account is still yours and can be withdrawn immediately without being staked, from £5, with no penalty and no minimum turnover. There is no rule anywhere requiring a deposit to be played through before it can come back out, and if you have deposited and changed your mind, that is a perfectly ordinary thing to do. The only exception is a casino bonus already claimed, which holds its associated funds until its wagering is completed or forfeited.
Bet the same way after a quiet run as before it, and the fun stays where it belongs. If you would rather talk to somebody outside gambling, 0808 8020 133 is open all day and all night. Accounts are for over-18s only.
Common questions
What is the minimum deposit?
£10 on every method, cards, wallets and bank transfer alike.
How long does a deposit take?
Instant on cards, PayPal and Apple Pay. Bank transfer takes one to two working days.
Is there a deposit fee?
No, on any method.
Why was my deposit declined?
Most often a gambling block on the card, a credit card, a name mismatch or the issuer’s risk rules. We only receive a generic code, so the bank is the right first call.
Can I withdraw a deposit without betting it?
Yes, immediately and without penalty, from £5. The only exception is funds attached to a casino bonus still working through its wagering.
Can I deposit more than my limit just this once?
No. A deposit limit is enforced at the cashier, and loosening one waits out a cooling-off period by design.
